Children ages 5 to 10 in Central Florida are invited to participate in the 2010 Orlando Citrus Parade drawing contest. We are asking children to draw their best picture or portrayal of the parade incorporating aspects of citrus, football and Florida Citrus Sports, and the winner gets to ride in the Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade as honorary Grand Marshal!
Last year's winner was East Lake Elementary 4th grader Grace Averitt.
Drawing Contest Guidelines:
- Draw your best picture of the Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade, college football and Florida Citrus Sports using crayons, markers or colored pencils.
- Be sure to include your name, age, address, phone number, school, teacher's name, parent or guardian's name, and parent or guardian's signature.
- The contest begins Wednesday, September 1 and all entries must be received by Florida Citrus Sports no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29.
- Only entries received by the deadline will be considered. Submissions will not be returned.
- For those participants who received this from their class or after school program, please turn in your contest entry to your teacher or program director for submission.
- For those participants who did not receive this from their class or after school program, please mail or hand deliver entries to Florida Citrus Sports, One Citrus Bowl Place, Orlando, FL 32805-2451. If you have any questions, please call 407-423-2476 ext. 146.
The Top 25 will be chosen by the Orlando Citrus Parade organizing committee and invited to a reception at the Downtown Orlando Public Library on Wednesday, November 10 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. During the event, a panel of local judges will choose the top three and name a winner.
The winner will also be announced at their school the following day. They will ride in the Orlando Citrus Parade as an honorary Grand Marshal on Thursday, December 30 and their drawing will be used on the cover of the parade's program.
